Unfortunately, we do not have good news to share. We had to delay Tuesday's planned surgery for Greta because two additional cancerous tumors were discovered. The vet did not want to proceed with surgery until knowing how invasive the cancer might be.
Our vet has referred us to an oncologist, and we will find out more next Wednesday when we meet with him. If the cancer has spread systemically, we will have to weigh palliative care. If the three tumors are the only evidence of cancer, then we will move forward with surgery and likely radiation or steroid therapy to follow.
