First Day

Today Mary and Lucy kicked off a wonderful new school year. They were both overjoyed with their teacher and classmate assignments, and marched into the school with big grins and even bigger sneakers. They are growing up so fast.

Which means they are old enough to get The Talk. I printed out this incredible back-to-school letter, modified the names, and read it outloud to them before bed. They listened attentively as a I read it. And then Lucy said, "Mom, we will be brave AND kind. I promise." And I nearly cried.
