Kinder Grad

Lucy's kindergarten graduation was Wednesday. A great occasion for celebration-- and one in which Mary and some other big sisters were excused from class to come and cheer on their siblings.
To the tune of "New York, New York," the class sang about heading off to "First Grade, First Grade," which was so sweet. Lucy loved her teacher, as you see from her giant end-of-year hug.
She also loved her classmates. The night before graduation, she wrote a note to her class which read, "Dear Class, I really enjoyed coming to school to share and learn with you all every day. Love, Lucy." She asked her teacher if she could read the note on the last day of school. Her teacher confided in me that Lucy read it and even teared up a bit as she did! So adorable.
Each teacher had a few words to say about the students as they handed them their diplomas. Lucy's traits were confidence and strength (surprise, surprise) and yes, she did have to be roused from the stands because she was busy chatting when her name was called. (Again, any surprise?) Luckily her teacher knows and loves our Lucy, and could tease her about it.

Afterward, we came home to enjoy delicious cupcakes made by Grandma Loeb and to kick off the summer.  Happy Summer to all!
