Ratat...ewwwie

Yes, the rat was captured last Friday. The end wasn't pretty, but thanks to a rat specialist, our home is once more ours and ours alone.

Which left us plenty of cause for celebrating. On Saturday, my wonderful parents took the girls for an overnight stay. They enjoyed a special Valentine's tea party wearing darling little dress-up skirts handcrafted by my mom, Mary reported with glee the next day. What fun!

And while our little mice were away, we cats played. We hosted a dinner party for several of Curtis' coworkers. We feasted and enjoyed chocolate and port for dessert. And had so much fun we saw the ungodly hour of 2am.

On Sunday morning, Curtis and his coworkers enjoyed the "Worst Day of the Year" bike ride around Portland. Though it began with chilly rain, the ride ended with spectacular sunshine that shone down rays of irony on the ride's moniker.

My valentine got me delicious chocolates, gorgeous flowers and a wonderful new phone that has my email hooked right up. He knows me well, doesn't he?

Happy Belated St. Valentine's Day and Day After Rat Capture to all!
