Tomorrow is our Grand-Papa's 85th Birthday! What an exciting milestone! But unfortunately, Papa is going to have to celebrate from the confines of his hospital room. He's been at St. Vincent's all week with heart troubles.
Luckily for all of us, he is making a remarkable recovery! The credit goes to good doctors and great visitors such as Mary, Lucy, and canine cousin Kennedy!! (Just make sure if you visit to tell the nurses that yes, Kennedy is the patient's dog. That's the party line, my friends...) Papa's spirits have also been boosted by many phone calls and a bulletin board thumb-tacked full of beautiful cards and art. Cousin Camden did an amazing job on his card which arrived today.
Mary made this poster tonight to take for Papa's big day tomorrow. Now we just hope the nurses (especially Nurse Helga, who is every bit as no-nonsense as her name implies) will allow him a tiny piece of birthday cake to celebrate!
