For the first time in nine years, we carved pumpkins without a gray dog at our feet. You see, poor Greta hasn't been able to keep an ounce of food or water down since last night. After some IV fluids and tests at the vet, we're hoping she begins to improve tomorrow. Otherwise, Halloween will be a very scary day for this house.
Flanked by the girls' carvings, here's a pumpkin in ode to our sweet Greta Girl. Who hopefully will be back to her rambunctious, crazy self soon.

beautiful Greta pumpkin...we will pray for her.
So sorry to hear about Greta...I hope it is something the vets can take care of for now. Sending hugs of comfort to both girls and parents!
b
and i have to say that you or someone is incredibly talented and artistic because that is a beautiful Greta pumpkin.
Grey update please.....
Did the vet know why she was sick?
Thanks, guys. The pumpkin was actually not too difficult-- I found a template online and copied it. Doesn't look like much in the daylight, but once the candle is lit, it really does look like Gray Dog!
Now to the important news: this morning Greta (fingers crossed) has kept down one tablespoon of that gross medical dog food. Hoping it stays down. Vet isn't sure what triggered the illness, but hopes it isn't related to her cancer. They are calling it hemorrhagic gastritis for now and hoping for the best. http://vetmedicine.about.com/cs/dogdiseasesh/a/HGEindogs.htm
Our prayers and Love to you all and your sweet Gray Dog...
Megan....Jack was so sick also last week!! Both ends!
