The stork delivered more than the usual May Day bouquet to Amy & Tom's doorstep today. He gave them a brand spanking new little girl, Chiara (pronounced Kiara, but spelled in the traditional Italian form for Claire). She was born this lucky May Day weighing in at a bold six pounds, eight ounces.
After getting the phone call, I nearly had to restrain myself from hopping in the car and driving ten straight hours to meet her! We are so excited to meet her next month.
April birthdays are legendary in our family. However, with Chiara's arrival, Mary's May birthday next week, and more May babies on the short-list for delivery, these May birthdays are gathering enough force to merit their own family soiree in future years.
Congratulations, Amy, Tom & big sis Becca!! (By the way, to celebrate your big news, your Goddaughter Lucy had a monumental, big-girl, accident-free day!)
